The newly announced Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has arrived at our HQ for review. Before diving into a full evaluation, let’s start with a quick unboxing to see what’s inside.
The Galaxy A16 5G comes in a simple white retail box that includes the usual paperwork, a SIM ejector tool, and a charging cable. We have the blue model in hand, though it’s available in three other color options as well.
The front features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a notch for the 13MP selfie camera. Notably, there is no fingerprint scanner beneath the screen, as it is integrated into the power button.
On the back of the phone, you’ll find a plastic cover featuring a vertically aligned triple camera setup in the top left corner. This system includes a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
At its core, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is powered by the Exynos 1330 SoC, with configurations offering up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It runs on Android 14 with One UI 6.1 straight out of the box and boasts an impressive commitment of six years of Android version upgrades and security updates, making this one of the standout features of the smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 5G features an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, and it is equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery that supports 25W charging. However, a compatible power adapter is not included in the package, so you’ll need to buy one separately if you don’t have it.
Stay tuned for our upcoming review to find out if the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is a worthwhile purchase.
