Xiaomi 15 introduces festive new color option

Last October, the Xiaomi 15 was launched in the Chinese market, showcasing an impressive variety of color options.

From classic hues to several Limited Edition variants, there was something for everyone. Now, the company has added yet another option to its collection.

In celebration of the Chinese New Year, Xiaomi has unveiled a new color named Spring Festival Gift, featuring a striking purplish-red (magenta) hue.

This stylish design is enhanced by a black frame that complements the blackish rectangular camera module. This new color closely resembles that of the Xiaomi SU 7 EV, which was revealed earlier this year.

Perhaps Xiaomi thought, “If you’re getting a new car, why not pair it with a new phone?” Moving on, there are no changes to the internal specifications – it’s the same device, just with a fresh magenta look.

To refresh your memory, the Xiaomi 15 boasts a 6.36-inch OLED display with a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 3,200 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, with options for either 12GB or 16GB of RAM. Storage choices range from 256GB to a generous 1TB.

The Xiaomi 15 features a triple-camera configuration on the rear.

  • A 50 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS),
  • A 50 MP ultrawide camera,
  • And a 50 MP telephoto camera that provides 3x optical zoom.

At the front, there’s a 32 MP selfie camera that captures sharp selfies. Powering the device is a 5,400 mAh battery, which supports incredibly fast 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 15 hasn’t been released outside of China yet, but based on previous launches, it’s likely to debut globally alongside the Xiaomi 15 Ultra.

With the Ultra’s announcement expected in just a few weeks, the wait shouldn’t be too long. What truly distinguishes Xiaomi from its competitors, in my view, is the vast array of color options and finishes available.

The Xiaomi 15, for instance, comes in over 40 different hues! In contrast, take the newly launched Galaxy S25; you only have four color choices, plus three additional ones that are exclusively available online, and frankly, they seem rather bland compared to what Xiaomi provides.
